We began the day by celebrating one our student Norah’s 14th birthday! Her sister and fellow students decorated an area of the dining hall and we all surprised her with music, gifts, and cards. Eaglecrest staff baked her a birthday cake for all of use to enjoy at dinner tonight!
We welcomed the campers back to camp today and it was so great to see them all again! Our students wrapped up their last skills clubs and large group games today. A theme we worked through was our ability to pivot.
While our large group game was planned to be pickleball, there were too many campers attending to be able to bus them all over to the park. So our students pivoted to use the new barn at Eaglecrest and we re-ran a game of Capture the Flag, which the students really enjoyed.
The worship skills club team also pivoted a bit. When they were teaching the Church Clap dance there weren’t quite enough students to demo the dance. They were also recognizing some great moments during the Burn Your Burdens where some students seemed to have some deep moments.
Eaglecrest staff treated everyone at camp to two types of s’mores after lunch! We had ingredients for standard s’mores and we had ingredients for Alaskan s’mores, which includes tortillas, mini marshmallows, chocolate syrup, and maybe some raspberry syrup.
Overall, it was another amazing day with the campers! We are looking forward to an evening of free time around camp, visiting the General Store again, and spending more quality time together.
We’ve got one more day to go, but Eaglecrest is running all the events. It was great to have all our students get through the skills clubs and large group games that they have been planning for for months! Thanks for all your support and prayers through all of this.
Fun facts:
- Grant got to go help move an airplane and came back super giddy. (Reminder: Grant is a leader).
- We had 39 students from the community at camp today!
- A bird interrupted our quiet devo time this morning and had a lot of us giggling 🙂

Happy belated birthday to Norah!!
I’ve loved reading all the posts and seeing Eaglecrest’s Facebook page filled with videos and photos of your camp days. It’s incredible to see how Eaglecrest’s campus has grown and become more beautiful over the years, and to hear that the camp has had 30+ students each day. I hope everyone has been able to connect, and I look forward to hearing about how God has been moving, primarily through the new relationships formed and the beautiful nature surrounding you all. Sending a big hug to all the Fitchburg girls on the trip!
I have been following all the blogs post and just been so happy and encouraged by the work the students are doing, for the ways they are building community, and for saying YES to the Jesus. Thank you to all the youth leaders for taking this group!!!! I can’t wait to hear all the stories!!!!
