Welcome to the MSM Alaska GO Team 2025 Blog!

In early June, our team spent some intentional time with one another to get to know each other better and prepare for the trip. We retreated for a day and a half to a camp where we spent time around a campfire, played a tag game in the dark with glow sticks, and enjoyed meals together. We also prepared for our trip by planning out the final details for the workshops and games our middle school students will be leading in Alaska. The students practiced giving instructions by presenting in front of our team and receiving feedback. Coming out of the retreat our team feels more cohesive and our students feel more confident leading at camp.

God was at work through one of our students during the retreat. A sixth-grade student on our team showed a heart of generosity towards everyone on the team. In the weeks leading up to the retreat she saved up money to buy craft supplies so that she could make personalized sweatshirts for the girls on the team. At the retreat, she gave all the girls sweatshirts, all the boys hats, and all the leaders notes of encouragement. Her servant-heartedness towards everyone on the team was an example for the whole group on the servant heart we’d like to have when we’re in Alaska.

We look forward to sharing more of our adventure in Alaska!  We leave on Saturday July 12, and will return Sunday July 20.
